" all that glitters..... "
Claspgarten, manufacturer of fine clasps, asked me to create a special piece to be featured on their web site for the holiday season and provided this lovely clasp.
I must admit I had some trouble getting started.  It took me quite some time to decide on colour, (and a few sleepless nights as well) but the clasp seemed to dictate that it had to be gold and silver and had to be sparkly - I don't usually do sparkly.

" all that glitters..."

With the colour choice out of the way, I decided on a free-form design.  I'm happy with the end result...sure is glitzy.Happy Holidays and best wishes for the New Year!

EARRINGS....
are on the agenda.  I seem to have developed "beaders' thumb" (my terminology).
I'm keeping to smaller projects and resting the offending digit as much as I can.
Hard to do.....I want to bead!!!!

" FALLING LEAVES "
This soft and supple piece, which combines an ndebele rope and peyote stitched leaves in classic black and white, has found a forever home.

Collection of Janet Dowson

This neckpiece consists of peyote squares and tubular ndebele ropes.
It is a substantial piece, but sits very comfortably on the neck.
I found the vintage brass pendant at Buttons, Bangles & Beads, St. Pete Beach, Florida.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Gosh I'm lucky!  I've been selected artist of the month for October at META4 GALLERY.   If you are shopping, this is good news for you too -  10% off my selection of jewelery during October, or just drop in and browse.
The gallery, located at 200 Queen Street in Port Perry, has much to offer besides jewelery - it is a showcase for many fine regional artists in glass, pottery, fine art and more.
